Arts in the Sunset to present replicas of long-lost official Amarillo flag to Local Officials

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) - A Longhorn steer. A cowboy hat. Bluebonnets, the state flower of Texas.All of these iconic images of the Lone Star State were incorporated in the official city flag of Amarillo, which was adopted in 1941.
Over the decades, the flag was all but forgotten until it was discovered recently in a book called “In the Cattle Country: History of Potter County.”

Crouch Foundation Donates $500K, Ranch to Diabetes Foundation of the High Plains

CANYON, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) - A historic donation is made to the Diabetes Foundation of the High Plains.
The Crouch Foundation of Amarillo announced today following a court hearing to finalize the deal that it would give a 640-acre ranch bordering Palo Duro Canyon and $500,000 to DFHP.
