Service Description
The goal for this workshop is to illuminate the complexities of perspective by covering its evolution from isometric to curvilinear. We will break down point perspective in a very geometric way, starting at first with isometric (0 point) and then working towards 3 point. We will also discuss the relationship between the camera lens and the observer as it relates to the perspective within the frame (as well as the effects that generate). I will be talking about practical applications of the concepts as we progress and how an artist can use them meaningfully when making work. Once you understand the process and reinforce it with practice and observation, you gain the freedom to create visual depth in a very rich way. We will analyze the effects that different perspectives can exhibit and discuss how to break it down logically. This workshop will be very information dense in order to cover all the material and potential. However, you don't have to know everything about perspective to begin utilizing it. Just a few concepts can go a long way when making art. But it always helps to learn as much as you can because surely your work will benefit from it.
