HAVING FUN WITH PASTELS
Description
In this class, participants will create several pencil sketches and a color study which they will use to create a pastel landscape painting. The instructor will supply art materials to use, and provide demonstrations to show each step followed by a practice session which guides participants through each step of the process of creating a pastel painting. Each participant will receive a “Kit” of supplies to use during the class. This is an “active” class in which the Instructor explains and demonstrates the process one step at a time while students observe, and then try it! Each step is viewed as an experiment, an adventure in pastel to awaken our inner artist! Pastel painting above was created by Richela Chapman from her own reference photo. Supplies: - Art supplies will be provided. If you have some pastels, please bring them. – a cover-up/apron, an old dampened washrag or other rag in a plastic bag for cleaning pastel from hands, nitrile gloves (to protect your hands), and a face mask (if you need one as pastels can be dusty). - there will be an hour break for lunch
